Why Is It Important?

Strengthening Labour Mobility helps meet changing labour market demands and supports the right of individuals to live and work where they want in Canada.

Ensuring that the qualifications of certified workers are recognized when they move to another province or territory benefits both workers and employers alike. Workers have a wider range of employment opportunities and employers have a broader selection of candidates.

The LMWG was established by the Forum of Labour Market Ministers (FLMM). Labour Mobility Coordinators from all governments that signed the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) participate on the working group.
